The Spiritual Significance Of Eid al-Adha

The Spiritual Significance Of Eid al-Adha

According to Huff Post...

Muslims celebrate the holiday to commemorate their belief in Abraham’s willingness to follow God’s command to sacrifice his son Ishmael, and Ishmael’s consent to being sacrificed.

Today, it is is marked by slaughtering animals to feed the poor. Coming at the end of the hajj, a journey of dedication and purification, Eid al-Adha is understood as an opportunity for second chances.

Eid al-Adha

Eid al-Adha also called Eid Qurban (Persian: عيد قربان‎) or Bakra-Eid, is the second of two Islamic holidays celebrated worldwide each year (the other being Eid al-Fitr), and considered the holier of the two.

It honours the willingness of Ibrahim (Abraham) to sacrifice his son Ismael as an act of obedience to God's command. But, before Ibrahim could sacrifice his son, God provided a lamb to sacrifice instead.

In commemoration of this intervention, an animal, usually a sheep, is sacrificed ritually. One third of its meat is consumed by the family offering the sacrifice, while the rest is distributed to the poor and needy. Sweets and gifts are given, and extended family are typically visited and welcomed.

In the Islamic lunar calendar, Eid al-Adha falls on the 10th day of Dhu al-Hijjah, and lasts for four days. In the international (Gregorian) calendar, the dates vary from year to year shifting approximately 11 days earlier each year.

The Spiritual Significance: My Thought

This is the great and holy festival which reminds us the great sacrifice. This festival teaches us the great virtues and qualities like sacrifice, giving and helping. GOD come and teaches us and fulfill us with these qualities and virtues.

But now a days, no body is going to compromise even a small thing. This virtue has been finished from the society. We can learn from our history. Actually, the real sacrifice is to leave our vices like lust, anger, greed, attachment and ego. If we live our lives without any such vices, our life will become heaven. But the real story is absolutely different. Every human being has these vices now a days. We can learn many things from our festivals itself. Learning is the great thing. Our festivals teaches us many things.

We need to charge our soul(energy, ruh) so that we can grab such virtues in our lives and start living with these virtues. GOD, who is light, the ocean of peace, purity, prosperity, joy, happiness, knowledge and power gives us such properties and make us full of such qualities and make the soul pure and establish the heaven again.

GOD's blessing:

May you be one with the determination to make a total sacrifice and celebrate the transformation ceremony.

There is a saying "Even if you have to die, you must not let go of your religion”. So, no matter what circumstances come, even if a mahavir form of Maya comes in front of you, do not let go of your principles. Do not take back into your thoughts the useless things that you have relinquished from your mind. Always be an elevated actor and with your powerful form of elevated self-respect, elevated awareness and elevated life, continue to play the game of greatness. Finish all games of weakness. When you have the determination to make such a total sacrifice, the ceremony of transformation will then take place. Now, collectively fix a date for this ceremony.

Thank You GOD
